Last year`s winner of the WDSF Professional Division World Championship Standard, Mirko Gozzoli – Edita Daniute from Lithuania, had finished their active dancing short after winning the PD World Championship Standard 2014 in Nanjing / China. So the adjudicators had to find a new world champion this year.
Benedetto Ferruggia – Claudia Köhler from Germany, who achieved runner-up position in Nanjing, this year in Leipzig / Germany won the title ahead of Donatas Vezelis – Lina Chatkeviciute from Lithuania, who attained runner-up position this year. Third place was given to Marco Cavallaro – Letizia Ingrosso from Italy.
Two more couples from Italy qualified for the final rounds. Rosario Guerra – Grazia Benincasa achieved 4th place and Isaia Berardi – Cinzia Birarelli were set on 6th place. Luca Rossignoli – Merje Styf, starting for Finland, attained 5th place in the final.
