13-08 WDSF Grand Slam Standard – Stuttgart / Germany

The last highlight of this year´s German Open Championships was the WDSF Grand Slam Standard. 288 ! couples started at Friday morning. After seven rounds the twelve adjudicators had qualified six couples for the final. Emanuel Valeri - Tania Kehlet from Denmark won the competition with 195,00 points. Simone Segatori - Annette Sudol from Germany became runners with a total of 194,13 points.

13-03 WDSF Grand Slam Latin – Cambrils / Spain


The 2013 WDSF Grand Slam Latin Series started in Cambrils / Spain on March 31st. 76 couples had come to Cambrils at this Easter Sunday, only one week before the European Championship Latin in Krasnodar / Russia. Only a few of the top couples were missing.

This Grand Slam Latin competition was the first one being held under the new judging system 2.0. The atmosphere was very good, the performance of the couples was excellent.

Aniello Langella - Khrystyna Moshenska / Italy Andrey Kiselev - Anastasia Balaeva / Russian Federation

The World Champions Latin, Aniello Langello – Khrystyna Moshenska from Italy won the competition with 196,76 points, followed by Andrey Kiselev – Anastasia Balaeva from Russian Federation ( 184,27 points).

13-03 WDSF Grand Slam Standard – Cambrils / Spain

The 2013 WDSF Grand Slam Series started on March 30th in Cambrils / Spain. It also was the start of the new grand slam judging system 2.0. WDSF Sportdirector Marco Sietas had explained the new judging rules some weeks before on WDSF website.

Several tests had been made to assure the new system. The juging system 2.0. needs 12 adjudicators, who are seperated to four groups of three judges. Each group has to evaluate another criteria with an absolute appraisal between „very poor“ (0,5) and „outstanding“ (10,0) points.

12-12 WDSF Final Grand Slam Standard

Benedetto Ferruggia – Claudia Köhler from Germany, who had won World Championship Standard last Sunday (Dec. 2nd) in Melbourne, this Sunday (Dec. 9th) again had to compete with Emanuel Valeri – Tania Kehlet from Denmark at Final Grand Slam Standard in Shanghai. The results of the Final Grand Slam confirmed the victory of Benedetto and Claudia in Melbourne. Emanuel and Tania again became runners-up.

Simone Segatori – Annette Sudol from Germany successfully pleaded 3rd place they also achieved in Melbourne. Dmitry Zharkov – Olga Kulikova from Russsian Federation achieved 4th place ahead of Nikolay Darin – Natalia Seredina from Moldova, who were set on 5th place. Evgeny Moshenin – Genny Favero from Italy attained 6th place in Shanghai.

Aniello Langella Khrystyna Moshenka from Italy, who had won World Championships Latin three weeks before in Vienna, definitely also attained the Final Grand Slam Latin 2012 in Shanghai ahead of Martino Zanibellato – Michelle Abildtrup from Denmark, who achieved runners-up position. Leader of Grand Slam Ranking List Gabriele Goffredo – Anna Matus from Moldova scored 3rd place.

The 12 top ranked couples of grand slam latin competitions were invited to compete at Final Grand Slam Latin 2012 this year on December 8th at Luwan Stadium in Shanghai. Chinese DanceSport Federation set the stage for this special event starting with a particular press conference for the couples and officials.

12-10 WDSF Grand Slam Standard

Russian Dance Sport Union was host of the 4th Grand Slam Standard competition of the year on the occasion of Dance Accord 2012 in Moscow on October 26th and 27th. At least 290 couples arrived at Aquarium Universal Sports Arena. Starting on Friday afternoon with the first rounds it took the whole Saturday to find out the six finalists of the competition.

The results are …

1st place:   Benedetto Ferruggia & Claudia Köhler / Germany (241,57 points)

2nd place: Simone Segatori & Annette Sudol / Germany (226,86 points)

12-09 WDSF Grand Slam Standard

It was the weekend of dancesport highlights from September 22nd – 23rd in Beijing / China. Three world championships and the grand slam standard were set on the agenda.

More than 90 couples from all over the world joined the 3rd Grand Slam Standard of 2012.

Emanuel Valeri – Tania Kehlet from Denmark won the competition ahead of Simone Segatori – Annette Sudol from Germany, who achieved second place.


Dmitry Zharkov – Olga Kulikova from Russia attained 3rd place.

26th German Open Championships
took place from August 14th – 18th 2012 in Stuttgart´s Congress Center “Liederhalle”. Again, there were more than 5,000 starts in 36 competitions. So German Open Championship achieved to maintain the largest dance sport event in the world.

WDSF Grand Slam Latin competition started on Thursday morning with 315 couples. It took seven rounds to find the six finalists starting for the five solo dances. Five minutes before midnight on Friday evening, the presentation ceremony was held.
