13-02 WDSF World Championship Junior II Latin – Bassano Del Grappa / Italy

Bassano Open 2013 set the stage for this year`s WDSF World Championship Junior II Latin on February 9th in Italy. Semen Khrzhanovsky - Vitalina Bunia from Russian Federation won the title. Sixty-two couples from thirty-three countries from Europe, Asia, America and Africa had come to Bassano to join the competition. At least seven couples qualified for the final rounds late in the evening.

13-02 WDSF World Championship Under 21 Standard – Antwerp / Belgium


Highlight of the third day at 13th Antwerp Stars Club was the WDSF World Championship Under 21 Standard. Evgeny Nikitin – Dana Spitsyna from Russian Federation won the title. Patrick Rucinsli – Ella Nusenbaum from Canada achieved runners-up position. 57 couples from 21 countries had come to join this year´s World Championship U 21 STD. The couples presented excellent standard dancing and we will enjoy to see them in future competitions also in adult class.

13-02 WDSF World Championship Senior I TenDance – Antwerp / Belgium

Second day at 13th Antwerp Stars Club was impressed by WDSF World Championship Senior I TenDance. Christian Bono – Elena Bono from Italy won the competition curtly ahead of Rodrigue Vieux – Adriana Teoli from France. Both couples achieved 15 points. Scating rule 10 – counting the numbers and the sum of places in all dances – did`t show a difference as well. So rule 11 – the number and sum of all judges in all dances – decided for Cristian and Elena from Italy to win (78 marks) ahead of Rodrigue and Adriana from France (75 marks).

13-02 WDSF WCH Senior III Standard
Antwerp / Belgium

The Metropolis Danssport Club and the Stars Danssport Club in Antwerp / Belgium had a full workload of 3 WDSF World Championships within the 13th Antwerp Stars Cup from February 1st – 3rd 2013. Hubert and Monique de Maesschalck as Masters of Ceremony chaired 15 competitions in these three days and the panels of adjudicators had to judge from dawn to dusk. Late after midnight the last prize presentation and the last dance of honour was finished.

On Friday, the World Championship Senior III Standard competition was on schedule. 232 (!) couples had come to take part in the world championship. It took seven rounds to find the new champions.

12-11 WDSF World Championship Latin
Vienna / Austria

Austrian Open Championships 2012 set the stage for this year`s WDSF World Championship Latin on November 17th in the city hall of Vienna. 93 couples from 57 countries had come to find the new world champion in latin section. Last year`s world champions Zoran Plohl – Tatsiana Lahvinovich from Slovenia had changed to WDSF Professional Devision after winning the championship in Singapore last year.

So it was most exciting who would be the follower in this dancing section. There were several aspirants for the title this year. So were saw a very sportive event in the Vienna City Hall starting at 1 p.m. last Saturday. It was nearly midnight when Hermann Götz, President of Austrian and Vienna DanceSport Federation (ÖTSV and WTSV), announced the new World Champions Latin 2012: two of the six finalists were still waiting for the results: Andrey Zaytsev – Anna Kuzminskaya from Russian Federation and … Aniello Langella – Khrystyna Moshenska from Italy. Both couples with eagerness expected the result …

12-11 WDSF World Championship 10Dance
Oslo / Norway

Congratulations! Bjorn Bitch – Ashli Williamson from Denmark won the title for the third time. With a total of 20 points, Bjorn and Ashli attained to win ahead of Miha Vodicar – Nadiya Bychkova from Slovenia, who achieved 2nd place with 32,5 points.

This year, Norwegian DanceSport Federation had invited the best couples of the world in 10Dance section to join the World Championship at Oslofjord Convention Center on November 10th 2012. Heidi Götz from WDSF Presidium thanked Mette M. Berg, Chairman of the10Dance Organizing Committee, and the whole team for the excellent organisation of this event. The nine adjudicators would have a difficult task to judge, she said, but she would be sure that at the end they would find out the best couple of this championship.

12-10 WDSF World Championship Youth Ten Dance – Moscow / Russia

The Russian Open Dancesport Championships “Dance Accord 2012” set the stage for this year´s WDSF World Championship Youth Ten Dance on October 27th at “Aquarium Universal Sports Center” in Moscow. The day of the championship began with snow and ice on the streets, but the couples were glad to be hosted at Aquarium Hotel, which is situated within the complex of the Aquarium Sports Arena.

Anastasia Titkova, RDSU First Vice-President and Sportsdirector, was glad to see 31 couples from all over the world, representing 31 countries in the section of youth ten dance. Russian Dance Sport Union was well prepared and arranged the event going off without a hitch. Congratulations to the team.

12-09 WDSF World Championship Freestyle Latin – Beijing / China

The 2012 World Championship Freestyle Latin, being held on September 23rd in Beijing,  was the forth highlight of this year´s Beijing International DanceSport Open. Sixteen couples from 13 countries had been registered to the competition.

With 54,79 points out of a maximum of 55,00 points Vladimir Karpov – Mariya Tzaptashvilli from Russian Federation won the World Championship Freestyle Latin competition. Congratulations!

With a superior result of 53,71 points, Charles-Guillaume Schmitt – Elena Salikhova from France achieved 2nd place.
