The world champions of last year, Aniello Langella & Khrystyna Moshenska from Italy stated their separation as a dancing couple shortly after the championship. The new partner of Aniello now is Vera Bondavera, who danced for Ukraine before. The couple will start for Italy. So they have to wait for participation at European and World Championships for one year. Same procedure for Khrystyna, who now is dancing with Marius-Andrei Balan from Germany. This couple also has to wait for one year for participating at European and World Championships. This was the reason why both couples were absent.
Due to this setting it was really exciting which couple would qualify for the title. Armen Tsaturyan – Svetlana Gudyno from Russian Federation achieved 1st place in all five dances with 190.78 points.

5th place: Stanislav Nikolaev – Elena Ziuziukina / Russian Federation (169,26 points)
6th place: Umberto Gaudino – Louise Heise / Denmark (166,60 points)
