Austrian Open Championships 2012 set the stage for this year`s WDSF World Championship Latin on November 17th in the city hall of Vienna. 93 couples from 57 countries had come to find the new world champion in latin section. Last year`s world champions Zoran Plohl – Tatsiana Lahvinovich from Slovenia had changed to WDSF Professional Devision after winning the championship in Singapore last year.

So it was most exciting who would be the follower in this dancing section. There were several aspirants for the title this year. So were saw a very sportive event in the Vienna City Hall starting at 1 p.m. last Saturday. It was nearly midnight when Hermann Götz, President of Austrian and Vienna DanceSport Federation (ÖTSV and WTSV), announced the new World Champions Latin 2012: two of the six finalists were still waiting for the results: Andrey Zaytsev – Anna Kuzminskaya from Russian Federation and … Aniello Langella – Khrystyna Moshenska from Italy. Both couples with eagerness expected the result …

More than 2000 visitors and the last two couples hang on Hermann Götz`s lips, when he said: … 2nd place … the couple with the number 95 … these word were the start of an emotional explosion in the hall and in the faces of the two couples. While Andrey Zaytsev – Anna Kuzminskaya were visibly disappointed to be set on 2nd place, Aniello Langella – Khrystyna Moshenska jigged up and down crying from happiness. Both couples apparently had not expected this result.

Both couples – and even some more competitors – showed an outstanding performance, however, the adjudicators had to decide, who was number one “today”. We are looking forward to see both couples competing in the Final Grand Slam Latin on December 8th in Shanghai.
