Tanzsport Deutschland invited the couples of Senior IV class to join the 2018 "Deutschlandpokal", which is the unofficial German Championship for the seniors. The competition was organized by TSC Silberpfeil Pirna together with TSC Excelsior Dresden on April 14th. in Pirna. 77 couples had been registered, 52 couples were on the floor. The early beginning at 9.30 may have been one reason for this reduction. The final had been held during the evening session within the ball "Pirna tanzt", which gave this event a very special atmosphere. The finalists had to introduce themselves with a short solo dance. On April 1st the German Championship of Senior IV class couples - "Deutschlandpokal" - was arranged by TD TSC Düsseldorf Rot-Weiss club. 62 couples had come to compete for the title. Anton Skuratov - Alena Uehlin from TTC Munich was the couple with the best chances to win the competition. The 10 Dance champions of last year achieved 2nd place at the European 10 Dance Championships in Aarhus / Denmark a fortnight ago. Marius Andrei Balan / Nina Bezzubova from Schwarz-Weiß-Club Pforzheim convinced the nine adjudicators with excellent latin dancing. They achieved 1st places in all five dances in the final rounds and won the championship ahead of Sergey and Viktoria Tatarenko, German Latin Champions of 2011 from Ahorn Club TSA in PSV Berlin, who achieved 2nd place in all dances this year. Saxonian Dance Classics set the stage for this years start of DTV Leistungsstarke 66. The 1st qualification took place on 26th February 2012 in Coswig near Dresden. Armin & Ute Walendzik from TSC Brühl in BTV 1879 achieved 1st place ahead of Hans-Georg & Barbara Strunk from VTG Grün-Gold Recklinghausen, who attained 2nd place, followed by Joachim and Gisela Götze from TSG Bremerhaven (3rd place) and Helmut Lembke / Eleonore Roland (4th place) from Tanzklub Blau-WEiß Celle. German Dancesport Federation (DTV) had invited to “Meistersinger Halle” in Nuremberg to find the German champion in standard section at November 5th 2011. Only seven days ago we saw the world championship standard in Moscow. This had not been a lucky day for Benedetto & Claudia. We saw hard fight between the German couple, who had been world champions standard twice, and challenger Emanuel Valeri & Tania Kehlet from Denmark. At least, Emanuel & Tania won the title.
