Happy Easter! The sun shines bright at the coast of Catalonia on April 8th in Cabrils / Spain this morning. 71 couples from 39 countries are attending the European Championship Latin 2012. Andrey Zaytsev – Anna Kuzminskaya from Russian Fedderation belong to the candidates of the title. Andrey and Anna had won the Final Grand Slam Latin in Salou in December 2011. Will they succeed again today? What about their competitors?
The hardest competitors might be the three other finalists of Salou, who attend the European Championship Latin today. From Italy we see Aniello Langella – Khrystyna Moshenska. The couple from Denmark, Martino Zanibellato – Michelle Abildtrup, and Timur Imametdinov – Ekaterina Nikolaeva from Russia complete the finalists from Salou. Another well know couple, Gabriele Goffredo – Ana Matus from Moldavia, belongs to the small group of aspirants for the final rounds. So there was site for one more couple joining the final rounds? But this is only speculation. At least the nine adjudicators will have to judge and this will decide the results.
Aniello Langella – Khrystyna Moshenska win the title …
There was a good, sportive atmosphere in the hall when the final rounds started at 9.15 p. First solo dance was the rumba. Aniello / Khrystyna achieved 1st place ahead of Andrey / Anna (2nd) and Martino / Michelle (3rd). Exactly the same rankings for the three couples were given in samba, cha cha cha and in jive. So the result was given when the couples started for the second solo dance paso doble. Aniello / Khrystyna were set on 3rd place in this dance, which was won by Andrey / Anna ahead of Martino / Michelle. At the end, Aniello Langella – Khrystyna Moshenska from Italy won the title ahead of Andrey Zaytsev – Anna Kuzminskaya from Russian Federation.
