11th danceComp in Wuppertal / Germany this year started July 4th - 6th. A highlight on the first day was the WDSF Professional Division European Cup Latin. 15 couples from 8 countries had come to join the European Cup Latin. Andrey Zaitsev - Elizaveta Cherevichnaya from Russian Federation won all five dances and became winner of this year`s European Cup Latin.
This year`s European Championship Standard of the Professional Division of WDSF was held on November 2nd in Leipzig / Germany. "Glashalle" in Leipzig is a special location for events due to the very specific atmosphere. 25 professional couples from 14 countries joined the competition. The acting world champions standard of WDSF Professional Division, Mirko Gozzoli - Edita Danuite from Lithuania win the title ahead of countryman Donatas Vezelis - Lina Chatkeviciute who achieve runner-up position.
Martino Zanibellato - Michelle Abildtrup from Denmark won the title ahead of Vladimir Karpov - Mariya Tzaptashvilli from Russian Federation, who achieved runners up position. Verena Sulek, WDSF PD Director, welcomed 37 latin couples from 21 countries in Europe, Asia and Australia in Ostrava / Czech Republic to compete for the title of world champion latin of the WDSF Professional Division 2013. Eva Bartunkova, President of Czech Dance Sport Federation, was glad to host the top professional latin couples this year in Ostrava.
Third day at German Open Championships. Time for WDSF PD Professional World Super Grand Prix Latin. Martino Zanibellato – Michelle Abildstrup from Denmark won all dances in the final ahead of Vladimir Karpov – Mariya Tzaptashvilli from Russia. Sergey Tatarenko – Viktoria Tatarenko from Germany achieved 3rd place.

27th German Open took place from 13th – 17th of August this year. Stuttgart for the 10th time was host of the competition with more than 5,000 starts on three floors. The opening evening promised to become very exciting. The Professional World Super Grand Prix Standard was the first event to see the Professional World Champion Standard – Mirko Gozzoli & Edita Daniute / Lithuania from Lithuania – and the Amateur World Champion Standard – Benedetto Ferruggia & Claudia Köhler from Germany – dancing in the same competition.
Benedetto and Claudia showed outstanding ballroom dancing and convinced the nine adjudicators. They won the European Cup with 45 first places!
Runner-up are Donatas Vezelis – Lina Chatkeviciute from Lithuania. We are very sorry not to have a nice picture of the couple. But look at the video of the final rounds to watch their performance.
3rd place was given to Isaia Berardi – Cinzia Birarelli from Italy ahead of Pavel Eydinov – Tatiana Livatova from Russian Federation, who achieved 4th place.
The courtyard of the castle of Bad Pyrmont set the stage for the first open air competition being held in Germany on June 29th 2013. Motive for this event was the WDSF Professional Division European Cup Latin. 18 professional latin couples from 13 countries joined the European Cup Latin, which was moderated by Joachim Llambi from Germany and Stuart Saunders from Scotland. Seven female adjudicators from seven European countries were assigned to find this year`s winner of European Cup Latin under the chairmanship of Andreas Neuhaus from Germany.
Donatas Vezelis and Lina Chatkeviciute from Lithuania won the World Cup Show Dance in ballroom section. The competition took place in Siemens arena in Vilnius on May 18th 2013. Seven couples qualified for the final. See the results and the videos from the final.
Mirko Gozzoli - Edita Danuite from Lithuania won the title in a most exciting competition. 43 couples from 19 countries had come to Bassano Del Grappa to find the new World Champions of the WDSF Professional Devision. Runners up are Paolo Bosco - Joanne Kirsty Clifton from Italy. 3rd place was given to Federico Di Toro - Anastasia Tarlykova from Russian Federation.
WDSF Professional Devision World Championship Latin 2012 took place at "Glashalle Leipzig" belonging to Congress Center Leipzig / Germany. 29 couples from all over the world had come to Leipzig to find the PD World Champion Latin 2012. Only a fortnight ago the European PD Championship Latin had been held in Velenje / Slovenia.
